Battle of Resaca Reenactment — 2027
The annual Battle of Resaca Reenactment is an independent Civil War reenactment held in Resaca Georgia. It is not part of, sponsored by, or affiliated with the Killed at Resaca film production.
The 2027 reenactment may provide an opportunity to celebrate the Killed at Resaca film and book in the place whose battle gave Ambrose Bierce's story its title.
A film premiere is being considered, with copies of Killed at Resaca — On the Big Screen available. Visitors interested in the film, the book, the historical battle, or Civil War reenacting are encouraged to attend!.
Independent reenactment in Georgia.
The 2027 event is scheduled for Friday–Sunday, 14–16 May 2027. Public battle reenactments are scheduled for Saturday, 15 May, and Sunday, 16 May.
Why list this as a Resource?
In May 1864, Union and Confederate armies fought at Resaca during the Atlanta Campaign. In 1887, Ambrose Bierce published “Killed at Resaca.” The modern reenactment gives interested visitors a separate opportunity to learn about the historical battle and battlefield in Georgia. Its 2027 date is the date of the reenactment, not a release date for the film.

A possible Killed at Resaca Reunion!
The website can use this page to encourage actors, reenactors, crew members, families, and supporters of the film to consider attending together. A screening or premiere of Killed at Resaca at or near the Resaca battlefield is being explored; it should be described as a possibility unless and until arrangements are confirmed.
Event dates, hours, admission, and other operating details should be rechecked with the organizers before travel because current event information can change.
